As you’ll be aware from ongoing conversations, we feel that we should be at the forefront of discussions about the future of Scottish social work. This includes how we can harness technology to its best effect, supporting professional expertise and experience to improve the lives of the people and communities we work in.
Together with EY, we’re hosting a free morning event on Tuesday 29 October in central Edinburgh, which will support an evidence-led debate about the opportunities advanced analytics presents, and how it can help inform social work practice alongside exploring the possible risks and implications of its application.
The morning is aimed at anyone with an interest in advancing data sharing practice in social work, and the debate and discussion will help identify where support could be offered earlier to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
We’d really welcome your contribution to what promises to be an important, stimulating and engaging debate. Places are limited, so if you’d like to attend, please email flora.aldridge@socialworkscotland.org by 5 pm on 20th September and we’ll confirm your place by 16 October.
Alternatively, if travel is likely to be an issue, let us know. We’ll be creating materials to share after the conference if travel is likely to be an issue, or we can arrange visits to better understand the unique needs of your area.
