Social Work Scotland has responded to the Scottish Government’s consultation on the incorporation of the UNCRC.
To inform our response, Social Work Scotland consulted our members across local authorities and the third sector. Our response takes a strategic national perspective into account, identifying cross-cutting issues and themes, including:
- Support for the direct incorporation of UNCRC, which will drive a broader and more nuanced public respect for children’s rights
- A plea for more time, for both public discourse and organisational readiness
